A Million Trillion

A couple nights ago Will was (as usual) insisting upon winning.   He had made up a pool game of his own and Sarah was kind of playing with him.   He was bragging about how he had a million points.   Tim started teasing him and said, "Well, Sarah has a trillion points."    Will says, "Well, I've got a MILLION TRILLION points!!!"   Tim responds, "Will, you don't even know how many zeros are in a million trillion.   Will thinks a second and says, "Eighteen" nonchalantly and continues to play.   He was right!!!

LCR game question

So, we're sitting around tonight playing a dice game called LCR. Each player gets so many chips and when you lose all your chips, Will feels bad for you, so he gives you a kiss. Love this game!

Anyway, we're playing, and I lost all my chips and I kind of act like I'm crying. Will comes over and puts his hands on each of my cheeks and looks in my eyes with concern and says, "Are you okay Mama?"

It was the best moment ever! I almost really did start crying. He's never asked me a question before, especially about how I'm feeling. Can't wait till the next time.

Telling Time

So, this morning Will wakes up at 5:45am. I groggily make my way to his bedroom to attempt to get him to go back to sleep. He had other plans ...

I lay down, and tell him it's 5:45 and that we need to stay in bed till 6. There's no clock in his room, but I have to give him a reason for whatever rule I lay down or he doesn't buy it.

We snuggle for awhile and I can tell he's thinking about something. He then says, "It's 5:55. Five more minutes till we can get up!" Surprised, I said, "Well yes, that's right. Five more minutes."

Another minute goes by and he announces, "It's 5:56. Four more minutes till we can get up!"

My dream us falling asleep together for an hour or two quickly disappeared. :)

Finally, a complaint about pain!

Will has always had a high pain tolerance, at 18 month old he'd fall down a lot and bloody his knees and just get right back up and keep going without a wimper. He's never ever told me that something hurt or that he was sick.

Yesterday, at 4 years and almost 3 months old, he woke up from his nap and said, "My head hurts." I didn't want to feel joy because I knew he was sick, but it was such a wonderful thing!!!

My son (50 lbs, we use the 4T size and they fit perfect) is 4 and has autism and potty training has been tiresome. Finally, I found these underwear!!! He's able to wear them to school and it helps them to continue the same potty training that we're doing at home. There's enough absorbency to typically keep his pants try if he has an accident. They are very much like underwear and we love them!

Time for Undies

I told Will that when we get home from Christmas vacation on January 2nd, there will be no more play diapers (pull-ups) and he will wear undies. I've been working on potty training on and off for at least a year, but Will has a fit when I try to put undies on him and he's big enough now that he can just take them right off.

The forewarning has helped. He tells me on a daily basis that he will wear undies in January and that diapers will be all gone. :)

I found these special undies online. I'm hoping they'll make it easier. The site also carries a potty watch that will go off every 30, 60 or 90 minutes an play fun music to remind you to potty. I'm ordering it today. I'll keep you posted on how it goes ...
